JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
In this role the MRI Clinical Research Scientist will work in close collaboration with Australian and New Zealand clinical and academic research partners - as well as GE HealthCare colleagues – supporting research collaborations and exploring, developing, and validating advanced MR imaging applications - ultimately driving their translation into product solutions.
This position exists to provide customer-facing research support in compliance with GEHC’s Research/Commercial Separation Policy.
Principal activities include:
o Commercial Tender Support – Engage customer at opportunity onset with roadmap presentations and collaboration exploration. Develop and present resulting research proposal.
o Customer Research Support – Activate and govern aforementioned research proposal.
o Strategic Business Unit Support – Provide product feedback relative to customer product usage. Provide product guidance including market trends and competitive actions.
o Regional Business Unit Support – Support Sales collateral and training needs. Support site visits for customers interested in relevant research topics.
This position serves to ensure that collaborative activities 1) enhance GEHC’s stature as research partner of choice and 2) are aligned with GEHC’s strategic research needs, contributing to leadership and relevance of associated products and services.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- PhD Degree (or equivalent) in MRI related topic (eg. Physics, Biomedical Engineering or related field).
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, matrixed and customer focused environment.
- Experience with research collaborations and publication of clinical research (>5 years).
- Demonstrated problem solving ability, be able to multi-task and results oriented.
- Excellent communicator - recognised for interpersonal skills and demonstrated autonomy.
- A fluent level of English is essential, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to travel where required.
Responsibilities:
- Support MRI research partners, with emphasis on key academic and clinical sites in Australia and New Zealand.
- Provide scientific and technical expertise of our products to our research partners.
- Provide domain expertise in a business relevant disease area (e.g. neurology, oncology, cardiovascular) and / or modality (ie. MRI and any other modality).
- Evaluate new applications and participate in their development by sharing feedback from their use in research projects.
- Assist in creating, collecting and analysing data and drafting research proposals, technical documents and journal publications.
- Participate in customer presentations during calls, and in the drafting of technical/scientific documents for tenders with a research component (research responses to calls for tenders, guides on the use of prototype sequences)
- Assist the Regional Research Manager ANZ with developing and maintaining collaborative research relationships, working cross-functionally to support licensing activities, external site visits to oversee progress of work and understand clinical/technical workflows and unmet needs, as well as identifying and developing external opportunities and collaborations and external funding opportunities.
