The role requires 2 functions, i.e. as MSA Manager you undertake responsibility for the compliance of managed vessels as per the requirements of RightShip, Dry BMS and company clients. Under QHSE, you are responsible for ensuring ISM, ISPS, ISPS, ISO compliance for the assigned vessels.

Responsibilities:

Prepare vessels for RightShip and other 3rd party inspections as per the industry standards
Be fully involved in such inspections, coordinate arrangements for the inspection
Prepare response (Root Cause Analysis) to meet the acceptability standards of likes of Rightship, Dry BMS and clients
Conduct GAP analysis with the SMS and propose amendments to meet industry standards, best practices and applicable, Flag/Class statutory regulations
Maintain records to demonstrate effective closure of all observations and findings accorded during 3rd party inspections
Assist in compiling and maintaining fleet vetting data, required for generating reports, assessing trends, and use analyzed data to improve performance
Understand Dry BMS standards, regularly review the standards and propose amendments to SMS for compliance
Prepare bulletins for dissemination to improve fleet inspection and vetting performance
Review upcoming industry-specific regulatory or recommended changes and propose requisite changes to SMS
Attend vessels to prepare vessels for inspections, training and conducting audits
Conduct incident / accident investigations and prepare incident investigation reports with a meaningful root cause analysis as per industry standards
Follow up incident reports until all corrective and preventive measures are closed up
Keep track of assigned vessels in arranging Flag Safety Inspections, ISM / ISPS / MLC audits
Be proactive in travelling and conducting on board audits and trainings
Conduct internal office audits, prepare reports and follow until the corrective and preventive actions are implemented
Participate in officers’ briefings, make presentations and communicate with the ship masters and crew
