Description:

OBJECTIVE:

To develop the MSIF service and effectively support a clinical and non-clinical team in the delivery of safe and effective care for all service users.
We are excited to announce the opening of the new MSIF (Medical Specialized Intensive Facility) at MQI and are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Nurse Manager to join our team. As a Clinical Nurse Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the establishment and operation of this facility, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
In this position, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the day-to-day policies and procedures for the new service, ensuring they align with best practices and regulatory standards. Your contributions will be essential in shaping the operational framework of the facility, driving clinical excellence, and enhancing patient outcomes. This is the first MSIF to be developed and opened in Ireland and being involved with this will give the successful candidate an opportunity to bring innovative practice into the area of homelessness and working with people who inject drugs (PWID).
Main Responsibilities
Planning and Development
Actively participate in the planning and setup of the MSIF service.
Work within international best practices to develop policies and procedures related to the MSIF.
Collaborate with international partners on policies, procedures, and staff training.
Recruitment and Staffing
Collaborate with the HR team and head of clinical governance for the recruitment of a full team to run the MSIF.
Provide support, line management, clinical supervision, and performance appraisal to all staff, including clinical and non-clinical staff.
Ensure all staff are working within their scope of practice.
Collaboration and Liaison
Liaise closely with the visiting GP service working within the MSIF.
Establish and maintain relevant working relationships with agencies operating in the local community to support clients.
Service Development and Quality Assurance
Work with the head of clinical governance in the ongoing development of this service to ensure high-quality service delivery for service users.
Participate in service reviews and evaluations, implementing changes arising from such reviews.
Client Support and Care
Ensure that assessments are carried out and support plans are devised and regularly reviewed by the staff in consultation and agreement with the clients.
Policy Implementation and Review
Implement service policies and procedures in conjunction with the team to ensure appropriate service delivery.
Ensure relevant policies and procedures are regularly reviewed.
Financial Management
Ensure appropriate financial controls and systems are maintained.
Health and Safety
Ensure that Health and Safety standards are maintained in accordance with the H&S Statement of MQI.
Attend the H&S Committee Meetings.
Administrative Responsibilities
Ensure the CRM system or other IT systems and filing systems are kept up to date.
Produce standard monthly and quarterly reports and compile any ad hoc information requests related to your service area.
Additional Duties
Assist with any tasks involved with the implementation and development of the MSIF.
Perform other duties as appropriate to the post as required.
