Description:
The post holder will have a leading role locally in supporting Health Boards to provide high quality education and training working with a complex and diverse range of stakeholders including Professional Collaboratives, Clusters, primary care providers, other agencies and training providers as well as a broader role that encompasses dedicated sessional input within HEIW. They will also play a key role as part of a broader network of Academy Clinical Leads on a national level across Wales. Education and Training leads will work collaboratively with the HEIW Multi-Professional Primary and Community Education and Training Unit and alongside postgraduate Deaneries, and professional leads across a wide range of professionals including all independent contractors (Pharmacists, GPs, Dentists and Optometrists) as well as nurses, Healthcare scientists and Allied Health Professionals to shape the national approach to commissioning training and education for primary and community care and ensure that this is fit for purpose. Education and Training Leads will work as part of an all-Wales network to ensure that training and education supports the delivery of the primary care model for Wales and the broader aspirations set out within A Healthier Wales.
Working with internal and external stakeholders, the role will support services in primary and community care to identify the skillsets needed within their local workforce and co-ordinate education and training to meet that need.
