The Municipal Design Manager’s primary responsibility is to lead a team of designers to support the commercial and technical offerings of Trojan’s Municipal UV products. This person will be tasked to balance providing technical solutions that can be executed within the organizations capabilities with supporting the commercial team in developing creative solutions that provide differentiation and winning bid strategies. This person will improve internal processes and develop Trojan’s capabilities to provide technical support to sales and our customer’s (E+C’s, Municipalities).
This role will require up to 20% of travel.
This position is part of the Applications Team located in London, Ontario, and will be hybrid.

In this role, you will:

  • Be an outstanding leader for a team of municipal designers to support the commercial and technical offerings of Trojan’s Municipal UV products.
  • Collaborate with sales and applications to provide technical solutions that can be executed within the organization’s capabilities while developing creative solutions that provide differentiation and winning bid strategies.
  • Improve internal processes and develop Trojan’s capabilities to provide technical support to regional sales managers and our customer’s (E+C’s, Municipalities).
  • Oversee the quality of work in responding to UV system procurement requests including detailed documentation review, sizing, equipment selection, cost estimation, and proposal documentation.
  • Work with applications, engineering, and operations teams to critically evaluate, identify gaps and drive continuous improvement in standard processes to improve the customer buying experience.
  • Oversee use of, and improve where needed, the tools and other technical resources used by team.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative and effective relationships with cross-functional peers/teams and customers addressing areas of concern and performance requirements.

Are you qualified? The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field of Engineering or technology
  • 5+ years of experience as an individual contributor, or leader, in a technical or sales team
  • Hands-on experience as an application engineer or equivalent
  • Strong commercial acumen and customer-centric mindset

  • Strong organizational and communications skills

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Water filtration and/or UV processes
  • Municipal environment
