POSITION: NAIL TECHNICIAN

Job duties:

• Greeting and welcoming clients
• Responding to client enquiries about nails
• Establishing and keeping outstanding professional relationships with the clients
• Providing high-quality manicures and pedicures, which include removing old nail polish fromfingernails and toenails, cleaning nails, shaping the ends of nails, pushing back cuticles, and applying new polish based on clients’ preferences
• Applying artificial nails and various nail designs
• Evaluating the condition of clients’ nails and advising them on proper nail care and suitable nail care treatments
• Sanitizing all nail instruments and equipment before and after each use
• Ensuring that workstations are kept clean and orderly
• Ensuring that nail and massage supplies are adequately stocked
• Purchasing new nail suppliers as necessary
• Providing quality hand and foot massages
• Receiving bookings, arrange appointments and maintaining client records, provide advice on and selling nail products
• Any other duties the employer reasonably may require employee to perform

Pay rate: minimum $29.66/ hour - maximum $32.00/ hour
Guaranteed hours of work per week: Permanent, Full time, 40 hours per week

Requirements and skills:

• At least 3 years of work experience as a Nail Technician, Manicurist or similar role or have a qualified New Zealand Certificate in Beauty Therapy (Level 4) or overseas equivalent
• Prefer to have experience in following skills: basic and advanced nail techniques, French manicures, Gel manicures, SNS Dipping Powder, Acrylic nails
• Experience in customer service (take appointment, phone calls, consultation) and in cash handing and end-of-day reports would be an advantage
• The knowledge of understanding of the anatomy of nails, and the problems or diseases that can affect them would be an advantage
• An awareness of health, safety and hygiene of a nail salon environment, especially when dealing with different chemicals would be an advantage
• Keeping up to date with changes in nail care techniques and products would be an advantage
• Full time availability
• Flexible to work with a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
• No criminal record
• Candidates need to be NZ citizens/residents
