SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Level II AINDT certification or equivalent in a minimum of 3 NDT disciplines.
  • Experience in NDT in a petrochemical, major hazard, oil and gas or related industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of standard NDT techniques and their application.
  • Sound knowledge of advanced NDT techniques
  • Sound knowledge of Risk Based Inspection principles.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of relevant codes and standards, inspection techniques and Risk Based Inspection methodologies.
  • Possess sound knowledge of EH&S requirements for industry.
  • Good communication and decision-making skills.
  • Computer literacy in maintenance and business applications.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The purpose of this position is to support the Inspection team in scheduling, prioritising and scoping day to day, turnaround and future NDT activities within the allocated budget and ensuring appropriate allocation of NDT resources for execution of work, ensuring NDT contractor activities are executed in accordance with agreed contract requirements and that they are undertaken in accordance with regulatory and code requirements and meet the stated business objectives and strategies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES.

  • Work closely with Operations and Maintenance Coordinators, Maintenance Planning Team, Maintenance Supervisors and Inspectors to ensure NDT is executed in a manner that meets the required targets taking account of Availability, Reliability and Safety, within the agreed budget parameters.
  • Perform proficiency testing of NDT personnel as and when required to confirm competence in relevant testing methods.
  • Perform Quality Assurance assessments to ensure the adequacy and compliance of contractor NDT procedures and reports.
  • Actively participate in planning and scheduling meetings to ensure NDT priorities are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships across stakeholder groups to ensure priorities are clearly communicated and understood.
  • Provide support and advice on the selection of the most appropriate NDT techniques to suit specific inspection requirements.
  • Ensure notifications raised have clearly defined NDT activities and scope of work to enable timely planning and scheduling.
  • Coordinate NDT resources to accommodate day to day, T&I and project requirements without compromising key maintenance function.
  • Compile NDT work packs and plan any emergent work or scope changes due to inspection or NDT findings.
  • Review new NDT techniques as they become available and assess their suitability for use.
