Description:

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR:

  • You will manage and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, access points, WIFI, and VPNs
  • You will design and implement network solutions to meet organizational requirements
  • You will monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues
  • You will manage ACL’s within industry best practices
  • You will implement and enforce network security measures, including access controls and intrusion detection systems
  • You will plan and execute network upgrades and expansions, and you will configure and optimize network protocols and services, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and SNMP
  • You will collaborate with IT teams to integrate network infrastructure with systems and applications and provide support as an escalation point for incidents/requests and resolving endpoint issues
  • You will develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams and configurations
  • You will conduct tests and perform security and quality controls; deploy and maintain wireless network systems and perform shell scripting or other basic scripting tasks
  • You will manage the life cycle of current technologies, own and manage our network infrastructure through to resolution while ensuring assigned tickets are filled in as per requirements outlined by leadership
  • You will ensure timely collaboration with external resources or vendors for incidents or service requests including advisement escalation to leadership
  • You will provide guidance and expertise on the best-in-class service for the organization’s IT needs
  • You will work with our Learning & Development team to ensure best practices and development of training completed for all staff and members as required
  • You will respond to emergency calls, troubleshoot and problem solve as required
  • You will participate in a Third Line rota, providing support as needed
