Description:

ABSA, the pressure equipment safety authority is seeking a Network and Infrastructure Specialist at our Edmonton office. The Network and Infrastructure Specialist’s role is to oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of computerized and web-based information systems. This role will serve as a key liaison between our business units and the IT department, ensuring that our technical solutions effectively support the company’s corporate strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Diploma or degree in a related field, minimum of 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Server Management and Administration.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Active Directory and technical skills with Citrix and VMware would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in dealing with third party vendors.
  • Experience in coaching teams in collaborative planning.
  • Experience in security solutions and best practices.
  • Experience with continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Comprehensive understanding of virtualization technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills in handling conflicting tasks.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the IT Director in aligning the company’s business needs with technical direction.
  • Plan, document, and implement modifications to core network topology.
  • Implement system improvements in alignment with the IT strategy.
  • Monitor and implement network security measures to protect company data and assets.
  • Administer the company’s LAN/WAN infrastructure.
  • Manage the administration and migration of Office 365 from Exchange on Premise.
  • Implement, manage, and support Microsoft Business Central ERP, Teams Phone System, RDS, Citrix Virtual App, Azure infrastructure, Hyper-V, VMware ESXI, SharePoint, and Intune.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, perform regular system backups, and ensure effective disaster recovery plans are in place.
  • Provide training and guidance to the IT Support Technician role.
  • Fulfill all duties of IT Support Technician when required.
  • Ensures company assets are responsibly maintained.
  • Source, develop, and provide training programs for employees.
  • Collaborate with project teams to implement internal systems.
  • Provide after-hours support and participate in on-call duties as required.
