Description:

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) qualification is essential
  • Over 5+ years of experience in similar Network Engineer roles within a corporate (banking/financial) environment
  • Substantial experience in networking environments and practical knowledge of network troubleshooting
  • Experience working within a technical team and knowledge of current processes, protocols and standards
  • Experience operating across multiple projects concurrently and assuming responsibility for the applicable technical items.
  • Solid understanding of load balancing technology
  • Experience with Cisco Switching and Routing and Firewalls
  • Experience with Checkpoint FW, Fortinet FW, VMware NSX, vxLAN, OTV, F5 LTM, ASM, GTM/DNS, NetScaler gateway
  • Knowledge of PCI DSS standards and experience of working within requirements
  • Experience as a Technical lead analyst working within a similar technical team
  • Strong customer service orientation and negotiations skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills
  • Ability to make sound and logical judgments and informed decisions based on available information
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-moving environment with frequent changesAbility to prioritise and execute tasks and make sound decisions in emergency situations

Responsibilities:

ROLE SUMMARY

Aubay is looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join our thriving client within the Financial Services sector. You will be collaborating with the Networks Team to implement new project initiatives and maintain existing infrastructure, maintaining uninterrupted service delivery across various networking technologies, while ensuring compliance with PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) and business security standards. Adherence to ITIL framework will be essential to meet SLA commitments for fault resolution and service requests, while making sure change controls align with internal and ITIL standards. Regular coordination with 3rd party providers and internal stakeholders is crucial to meticulously plan and execute changes, minimizing impact on clients. The ideal candidate will have a passion for quality, excellent communication skills, and a flexible and adaptable mindset. You should also value teamwork and be committed to personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the role.

KEY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain the smooth operation of company networks.
  • Continuously monitor network performance to meet agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Focus on ongoing improvement of networks and overall IT effectiveness.
  • Resolve new and outstanding service requests and fault tickets promptly.
  • Ensure all network changes comply with PCI DSS standards and internal specifications.
  • Recommend enhancements to current and new architecture to increase resilience, efficiency, and reduce Network Infrastructure costs.
  • Uphold and adhere to network-related policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the development of network strategies in collaboration with the Network Manager.
  • Test networks for system performance and provide regular performance statistics and reports.
  • Develop strategies and roadmaps for maintaining network infrastructure.
  • Practice IT asset management, including maintaining component inventory and related documentation.
  • Act as a deputy for the Network Manager when required.
  • Resolve problems swiftly and permanently, proactively monitoring systems to prevent failures.
  • Identify single points of failure and develop recovery plans.
  • Facilitate capacity and availability management processes and procedures across all network services.
  • Create high-quality documentation for new infrastructure to facilitate smooth transition into support.
  • Participate in a 24/7/364 on-call rotation.
  • Ensure monitoring, inventory, and related documentation reflect changes made and new infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with IT Security to remediate security vulnerabilities in network infrastructure within agreed timelines.
  • Practice network aspects of Disaster Recovery (DR) at least annually.
