Overview:
At Nortal we are looking our next Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the networking infrastructure of our organization. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our network systems, optimizing performance, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise. This role requires a strong understanding of networking principles, protocols, and technologies, as well as excellent problem-solving skills
Responsibilities:
5. DOCUMENTATION AND BEST PRACTICES:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including network diagrams, configuration files, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Adhere to best practices and industry standards for network design, security, and performance optimization.
- Participate in regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP).
- Hands-on experience with network equipment from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto Networks, etc.
- Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, Nagios, SNMP).
- Solid understanding of network security principles and practices, including firewall configuration, VPNs, and encryption protocols.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are a plus.
