Network Operation Engineer

Join our team as a Network Operations Engineer, responsible for providing comprehensive support for network hardware and circuitry across all levels of our global network infrastructure. This role demands a high level of autonomy, accuracy, and meticulous attention to detail.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency in fiber-optic technology, including cable types, connector types, optic types, patch panels, and optical transport technologies.
• Extensive knowledge of routing protocols, with a focus on BGP.
• Experience with Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) and Internet Peering strategies.
• Strong communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with service providers and colocation facilities worldwide.

PREFERRED SKILLS (BUT NOT REQUIRED):

• Experience in a multi-vendor network environment.
• Network certifications such as CCNP or JNCIP and higher.
• Scripting abilities with Python and Bash, along with an understanding of automation and DevOps practices to collaborate with developers in enhancing tools and workflows.

TOP FIVE MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Extensive hands-on troubleshooting experience in Networking layers 1-3.
• Good knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and IPSEC security.
• Familiarity with Juniper systems is a plus.
• Previous experience in a multi-vendor environment with extensive CLI expertise.Knowledgeable in hardware swaps and specifications.

• Provide support for global production and corporate networks, including edge, backbone, datacenter, Point of Presence (POP), and Content Delivery Network (CDN) infrastructure.
• Perform day-to-day tasks involving maintenance and configuration of multiple vendor TOR switches (Cisco Nexus, Arista, Juniper), optical backhaul, and backbone & edge routers across various POP locations worldwide.
• Assist in addressing traffic concerns and resolving queries raised by ISPs and partners.
• Manage switches during incidents such as input errors, CRC errors, and Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) processes.
• Collaborate directly with ISPs and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues.
• Develop technical documentation, workflows, and root cause analyses.
• Occasional weekend work may be required.
