Description:

LCP Delta provide data-driven research, consultancy, technology products and training services to companies investing in and navigating the energy transition. LCP Delta was formed through the merger of Delta-EE and LCP Energy to bring together deep generation and consumer-side expertise, to provide our clients with a single partner to help them on their journey and provide them with a 360° view across the energy spectrum. We are a diverse team from a variety of backgrounds including engineers, data analysts, environmentalists and more.
The Energy Networks Team has a strong reputation in the network sector, being a lead partner on the Community DSO project for Northern Powergrid (a £15m Ofgem funded innovation project). Other LCP Delta projects include completing the latest innovation strategy and 2050 Energy Innovation Atlas for the Energy Networks Association. We are currently leading multiple innovation projects and work with all UK TSOs, DNOs and GDNs and have a clear strategy for significantly growing our Energy Networks Team and business. This role will be an important step in building our team and capabilities to achieve this strategy and will provide an exciting opportunity in the network consulting sector.

WHAT SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALITIES ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Experience and knowledge of the electric power industry, electricity networks (both distribution and transmission) market, systems and equipment. Gas distribution experience is desirable
  • Proven experience as a consultant in the design, understanding and performance of power systems studies
  • Strong knowledge in power systems analysis, as well as experience in software simulation tools
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written confident in presenting data and solutions to our customers
  • Consulting and project management experience desirable
  • Developing strong customer and partner relationships, both external and internal. Commercial acumen with a proactive approach to problem solving and the ability to successfully persuade and influence senior management
  • Requires strong knowledge of the application of technical & business-related consulting for the electricity networks market and the impacts of products, equipment and engineering concepts and practices as contributors to potential recommended solutions. Proven experience in creating opportunities in the market
  • Analytical mindset and self-motivated, takes initiative to solve problems

Responsibilities:

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

You will be responsible for developing and delivering strategic and innovative projects for electricity network organisations, navigating the energy transition’s regulatory, economic and engineering challenges.

The position will support the winning and delivery of electricity distribution network projects in LCP Delta in a range of forms:

  • Engagement with electricity distribution network stakeholders and account management of some LCP Delta network clients and contacts
  • Writing and reviewing technical reports and proposals as well as maintaining client relationships
  • Developing new project ideas working with the LCP Delta Head of Energy Networks and pitching these ideas to network companies and potential partners
  • Leading and supporting the writing of proposals for commercial and innovation/grant-funded network projects
  • Leading and supporting the delivery of energy network projects, including managing the LCP Delta team input, managing research and analysis, and writing and reviewing technical reports
  • Providing network technical and expert support on consulting projects being conducted across LCP Delta. The role therefore requires a combination of technical and project delivery skills, alongside an ability and enthusiasm to have direct client contact and generate good client relationships
