Description:

ABUHB CAMHS have ambitious plans to develop early intervention services for children and young people with neurodevelopmental (ND) needs. We are looking to further enhance our workforce to enable us to continue to grow our innovative therapeutic offer. Transformations in the ND pathway places strong emphasis on the development of therapeutic support within early intervention.
As part of service developments, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a (ND) Multi-Disciplinary team in CAMHS in ABUHB. This post provides the opportunity for an occupational therapist with significant experience of working with children and young people with neurodiversity (ASD and ADHD), alongside their caregivers, to provide occupational therapy assessment and early intervention. In addition to this the post holder will contribute to the formal ND diagnostic process when other supports and strategies offered have not achieved the outcome as anticipated.
We are seeking an OT who is passionate about supporting children and young people to achieve positive outcomes. We provide regular clinical and management supervision as well as access to a wide range of internal and external training opportunities.
You may be expected to travel to other sites to allow improved access for families and care closer to home.
The post holder will be responsible for carrying out the assessment of occupational needs of children, young people and their families, and developing formulations, subsequent planning, delivery and evaluation of occupational therapy interventions.
The post holder will contribute to the service development and provision of early intervention and postvention occupational therapy for children and young people on the ND pathway.
The post holder will be an active member of the ND MDT and will be responsible for undertaking neuro-developmental assessments that will contribute to the diagnosis of children and young people with ASD and ADHD.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

The role will involve working with children and young people to develop independence and life skills, the assessment and support of individuals with occupational needs and providing holistic intervention supporting engagement in activities of daily living.
