Description:

Chichester Assessment and Treatment Service (ATS) have an exciting new role, inviting applicants from clinicians who have an interest in Neurodiversity to support our ATS Service Users who have or are suspected to have neurodevelopmental needs in addition to mental health issues. This new neurodevelopmental practitioner will complete assessments and interventions for a reduced caseload of service users and will also support their ATS colleagues by providing episodic co working, consultation and expertise, alongside supporting the roll out of training to the wider service. The post holder will be based and line managed within an ATS and play a key role in linking with the Transforming Care Autism Team (TCAT) staff. TCAT are a small assessment and consultation tertiary MDT that supports Sussex Partnership clinicians with admission avoidance, and facilitating discharges for autistic people. The is a great opportunity for the postholder to work alongside this highly specialist, innovative team who are passionate about improving the lives of autistic people in mental health services. TCAT will support the post holder to develop into the specialist link role through providing supervision, training and shared learning experiences. The role will more broadly enhance the community team approach and effectiveness with this cohort of people open to community teams and as clinically indicated align with TCAT.
You will be a member of the ATS multi-disciplinary team, providing consultation, advice, support to ATS colleagues in delivering reasonable adjustments to support the person in our care towards their recovery journey. You will also provide specialist assessment and interventions to a reduced caseload of adult service users with identified or suspected neurodevelopmental and mental health needs. Duties will include linking with TCAT to support individuals in the least restrictive interventions that meets their clinical and safety needs.
