We’re looking for a talented and proactive News and Media Relations Officer to join our small professional team within a busy national press office and play a key role in shaping the Universitys media profile, actively contributing to a strategic and proactive approach that aligns seamlessly with The University of Manchesters strategic objectives and corporate goal of Building a Reputation for Excellence.
In this role, youll be at the forefront of our media relations operation, responsible for writing and distributing press releases, profiles and news items, supporting University activity such as Innovation, Campaigns, Civic Announcements, Teaching and Learning, and Policy@Manchester.
Collaboration is key, and as News and Media Relations Officer, youll work closely with a dynamic team of like-minded professionals, including fellow News and Media Relations Officers, the News and Media Relations Manager, and the Universitys Head of Communications. Together, ensuring our media efforts are not just effective, but resonate seamlessly with broader goals. Building strong relations with major media and news organisations, including newspapers, magazines, journals, periodicals, television, radio, social media, and electronic news providers, will be a crucial aspect of your role.
