The New Acland Coal Mine (NAC), a thin seam open cut mining operation is owned and managed by New Hope Group. NAC based in Acland, 35km north-west of Toowoomba, has played a key role in the Darling Downs region as an employer and economic contributor since it began operation in October 2002.

We are seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor (Water) based on site in Acland to conduct site-based water management activities to ensure compliance with statutory environmental obligations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide advice and support onsite to ensure compliance with statutory obligations
- Communicate water issues, standards and procedures regarding management of surface water and groundwater
- Coordinate environmental water sampling and complete required reports to maintain licenses and approvals, within required timeframes
- Act as liaison on behalf of New Acland Coal as required with government agencies and local community including but not limited to informal emails, telephone calls, formal reports, meetings and site inspections as required
- Coordinate the management and application of environmental licenses and approvals within required timeframes and frameworks
- Manage and supervise environmental contractors in line with organisational requirements to ensure effective and compliant delivery of operation
- Engage with the Community liaison officers with regard to community complaint investigation and management and ensure timely deliver of response
