Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Night Duty Clinical Nurse Manager 2 to lead a team of Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants, to play an integral and active role in a committed Multidisciplinary Team, and to make a significant contribution in the area of psychiatric nurse management.
Work Location: Stocking Lane, Rathfarnham Dublin 16, Ireland
Contract type: Permanent, Full-Time
Working hours: 78 hours fortnightly
Reports to: Director of Nursing and accountable to Assistant Director of Nursing

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (with An Bord Altranais/NMBI) or eligibility to register.
  • Have a minimum of five years post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years working as Clinical Nurse Manager 1.
  • Experience in a healthcare/hospital setting, including acute mental health care.
  • Clinical experience in palliative care is not essential, but desirable.
  • Possess the requisite knowledge and ability including a high standard of clinical, managerial, and administrative competencies.
  • Demonstrate experience in managing staff, budgets, and workforce planning.
  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the Mental Health Commission requirements, leadership, and governance.
  • Demonstrate clinical experience in working within a team of clinicians and knowledge of the concepts and operations of Clinical Governance.
  • Demonstrate ability to lead, teach, manage and participate in the practice education of students and registered nurses, and to promote and engage in the teaching/training/support of others as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience of health, safety, and other statutory regulations affecting a healthcare organization.
  • Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional/personal development.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide continued strategic and operational development, coordination, and management following national and regulatory standards and with regard to best practices.
  • Ensure that the nursing service provision is delivered to the highest standard of treatment and care, and that safety is maintained.
  • Ensure the highest standard of compliance with regulatory programmes including Health & Safety and Risk Management standards.
  • As an active leader, have the knowledge and experience to deliver operational change programmes in the nursing service.
  • Collaborate with residents, families, carers, nursing and other staff in goal setting and care planning.
  • Participate in the multidisciplinary/healthcare team and work in cooperation and collaboration with team members.
  • Ensure that all practices, procedures, and policies conform to the service and strategic plans of the organization.
