Night Manager
The Night Manager contributes to the overall success of the hotel by taking responsibility for the management of all aspects of the hotel functions at night, in accordance with hotel standards. This role is also responsible for completion of night audit at the property, and guides and directs other members of the night team for all other operations. The Night Manager will encourage and promote a high-performance culture within their team, ensure that high levels of guest service standards are maintained, support and execute all corporate strategies, and promote a positive work environment while maintaining high internal and external guest service standards at all times.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
- Degree/Diploma in Hospitality, or Hospitality Industry course completion is an asset
- Minimum 1 year accounting or previous night audit experience required
- Minimum 1 year in a supervisory role in a hotel environment required
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
- First Aid Level 1 certification
- Rooms Forecasting and/or Budgeting experience considered an asset
- Understanding of yield and revenue management considered an asset
- Ability to perform well under pressure and make quick, sound decisions
- Self-motivated team player with demonstrated interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates superior customer service skills
- Superior communication skills in English, both verbal and written required
- Exemplifies Coast’s core values and enjoys working in a culture of accountability
- Able to work overnight shifts, including those on weekends and holidays

Responsibilities:
- Registers arriving guests and assigns rooms
- Ensures superior customer service levels are maintained by all Front Office team members
- Resolves guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction
- Directs and advises ambassadors on rates, packages and promotions available at the Front Desk
- Maintains complete knowledge of and complies with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards
- Presents statements of charges to departing guests and receives payment
- Completes daily sales & labour report
- Completes gratuities porterage distribution report on a daily basis
- Completes daily room pick up & forecast reports
- Accurately completes shift updates and cash-out procedures
- Informs and updates the Front Office Manager on all guest related issues
- Verifies and checks all night audit reports and reports any discrepancies to Front Office Manager, General Manager and Accounting office
- Carries out night audit responsibilities when required
- Other duties as required
