Description:

Joseph Ash Chesterfield is currently looking for experienced multi-skilled maintenance engineer with a passion for ensuring that the safety and quality of its equipment is maintained throughout the site. You will join the skilled team already in place at the galvanizing plant in Chesterfield, who service and maintain all the on-site automated and manual equipment, meaning experience in both mechanical and electrical engineering is essential.
The facility, Joseph Ash’s largest single site, is perfectly suited for projects including structural sections and lighting columns, and other general fabrications work. Centrally located in Derbyshire near junction 29 of the M1, it has acres of space enabling it to handle the biggest of projects, including storage before and after hot dip galvanizing.
The candidate must have sound knowledge and experience in Three-phase electrical installation, including motors and inverters drives; possess excellent troubleshooting, etc. Working at heights is a key requirement due to the high volume of overhead gantry cranes, hence the successful candidate should be comfortable operating a MEWP.
The ability to work as part of a team together with excellent attitude towards Health & Safety are pre-requisites of this role.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Highly skilled and experienced in mechanical and electrical engineering with a recognised electrical qualification.
  • Experience of and working with planned preventative maintenance systems.
  • Some fabrication experience would be desirable but not essential.
  • Experience of complex electrical fault finding.
  • Experience of PLC systems (basic), motors, drives and electrical drawings would be beneficial.
  • Crane experience desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Working permanently on our Nightshift as the Maintenance representative.
  • A period of training and site familiarization would occur initially on our day shift.
  • Completion of planned preventative maintenance routines associated with all plant and equipment to include mechanical and electrical repair and refurbishment.
  • Resolution of ad-hoc breakdowns.
  • Proactive development of operational process and equipment to enhance the efficiency of the operation.
  • Inspection and testing of equipment to ensure safe operation of the plant.
  • Supervision of visitors/contractors as required.
  • Supporting the business and production team as required.
