Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Our NOC Engineer (formal title is Systems Engineer) is responsible for the design, implementation, and administration of the company’s IT infrastructure. The Systems Engineer is responsible for engineering and maintaining IT systems, assisting with technical escalations, and providing training and mentoring to team members.
Work Schedule: This position is offered on a Remote-Centric Hybrid basis with the expectation that you will be required to attend onsite bi-weekly meetings. Our office is located in the Green Hills section of Nashville.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required:

  • 8+ years of demonstrated IT experience supporting and troubleshooting enterprise level, mission-critical applications, resolving highly complex issues/situations and driving technical resolutions across cross-functional organizations.
  • Experience in the design and implementation of IT solutions for Ambulatory Surgery Centers preferred.
  • Healthcare IT experience preferred.
  • Able to participate in IT support escalations, including on-call rotations.
  • Technical Certification(s) in Microsoft, VMWare, or other relevant areas preferred.
  • Strong desire for personal development and learning.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college with an emphasis on a technical discipline; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 8+ years’ experience in IT systems administration and engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and supporting an on-premises and cloud-based Microsoft environment.
  • Expert level knowledge of Microsoft products and services that include Windows Server, SQL, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Entra (Azure AD), SharePoint, Exchange on-prem and online, and Intune.
  • Experience working with monitoring tools and technologies, i.e., ServiceNow ITOM, Tanium, ConnectWise Automate, SolarWinds, etc.
  • Experience supporting datacenter infrastructure including server hardware, virtualization (VMWare/Hyper-V), SANs, network architecture, backup administration, and DR planning.
  • Experience with Identity and Authentication using SSO/Federation, AD/Entra, ADFS, Okta, etc.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Able to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner. Must be able to work well with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Must be detail oriented and organized. High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information. Must be able to exercise good judgment and positively influence and lead others, including handling confrontations with poise and efficiency. Based on business need, the ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends. Must pass a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the IT infrastructure support efforts that drive the prompt mitigation of issues impacting critical workloads, providing timely communication in an enterprise support environment.
  • Administer corporate and surgery center infrastructure, systems, and services.
  • Manage and support Data Center operations including power, cooling, and availability.
  • Manage system performance, regularly collect and report on performance metrics.
  • Manage system and application-level security.
  • Provide escalated support to end users and service desk technicians.
  • Participate in IT meetings and planning sessions, providing relevant input and feedback where warranted.
  • Audit, monitor, analyze, and reconfigure IT environments for performance improvements and future scalability.
  • Communicate effectively to business and technical groups within the company and at surgery centers.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for IT infrastructure.
  • Participate in scheduled maintenance during non-peak (or non-business) hours when necessary.
  • Participate in IT support escalations, including on-call rotations.
  • Participate in IT meetings and planning sessions, providing input and feedback on cloud IT strategy.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including Information Security Policies and ensure that AMSURG remains as secure as possible.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
