You’ll have an impact on bringing digital-first banking to our customers by defining the future state architecture vision and strategies for our Global Businesses and Global Functions.
You’ll be developing business, data, software, and integration architecture standards to manage processes, systems, and technology complexity across the HSBC Group. Through dynamic, agile collaboration you’ll work closely with business partners to translate their requirements into integrated solutions that can be deployed globally using consistent service patterns for ease of deployment, support, and enhancement.
Wealth & Personal Banking (WPB) is leading the way in defining, developing and delivering mobile-centred smart banking. It is a foundational (digitally-centred) proposition which can be harnessed by our markets in support of the Growth Agenda.
Our goal is to enable mobile-centred smart banking faster, more effectively and in a way that sets the standard of modern banking and paves the way for our bank of the future vision.
The North Star programme reflects new incremental investment to revolutionise our mobile banking app to deliver a hyper-personalised and intuitive mobile banking experience.
The WPB Technology Business Management function ensures strong oversight and control of Operational disciplines: finance, workforce management, vendor and governance. Stakeholder management at Tech CIO, CTO, Value Stream leads and Regional teams (both tech and business).
The role will report to the Senior Business Manager and will act as a Relationship Manager and single point of contact for the Value Stream Lead ensuring strong operational and financial discipline

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Directly manage a Business Management support team to ensure strong Financial and operational management across Platform and Value Stream
  • Have overall accountability for management and reporting of charges across Value Stream
  • Provide operational oversight and support for annual planning and quarterly business review (QBR) process
  • Ensure appropriate charges structure across Value Stream
  • Ensure alignment and management of data across GPDM, Clarity and other relevant tools
  • Build excellent working relationships with Value Stream Delivery and Portfolio Teams to ensure detailed understanding of future plans and requirements
  • Ensure appropriate governance / touchpoints in place to manage workforce demand
  • Identify and pursue sustainable cost saving opportunities and ensure excellent financial discipline across team
  • Excellent working relationships across COO, Portfolio Office, Platform & Value Streams

Requirements

  • Very Strong Stakeholder Management / Relationship Management across Senior Leadership CXO Level
  • Proven track record in Operational, Planning or Financial management role
  • High level finance background and programme costs
  • Experience of managing large budget £100M+ essential across Finance and IT
  • Proficient in financial management and reporting
  • Excellent analytical skill, a passion for metrics and figures, and the ability to get into the details, while also seeing and understanding the big picture
  • Experience of working on a global scale (i.e. across timezone & geography and with remote teams)
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently, under pressure and proactively in a fast paced environment with multiple deadlines
  • Must have strong influencing skills
  • Familiarity with key tools including Pioneer, Discover, GPDM, Clarity, HIBS, Jira and Confluence
