Job Title: NP/PA Emergency Medicine
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) specializing in Emergency Medicine to join our dynamic healthcare team. As an NP/PA in the Emergency Medicine department, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to patients in emergency situations. Your expertise and quick decision-making skills will contribute to the effective management of emergent cases, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests, to accurately diagnose and treat emergency medical conditions
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients in the emergency department
  • Perform various medical procedures such as wound suturing, casting, splinting, and foreign body removal
  • Administer appropriate medications and intravenous fluids, ensuring patient safety and proper dosage control
  • Collaborate with consulting physicians and specialists to provide continuous and comprehensive care to patients
  • Educate and counsel patients and their families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and treatment options
  • Document patient care accurately and maintain complete and up-to-date medical records
  • Act as a resource for nursing and support staff, providing guidance and expertise on emergency medical care protocols
  • Remain current with advancements in emergency medicine through regular continuing education and professional development activities

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) licensure in the state of practice
  • Master’s degree in Nursing or completion of a Physician Assistant program from an accredited institution
  • Certification as a Family or Acute Care NP or PA
  • Proven experience in emergency medicine or urgent care settings is preferred
  • Excellent clinical judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Efficient multitasking abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based healthcare setting
