JOB SUMMARY

Owensboro Community and Technical College invites applications to apply for part-
time/temporary faculty as a Nurse Aide Instructor reporting to the Director of Nursing. The Nurse Aide Adjunct Instructor will teach nurse aide classes, including didactic, lab, and clinical instruction.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing required.
  • Two (2) years’ work experience as a Registered Nurse (active, unencumbered license in KY or a compact state with multi-state privileges) with a minimum of one year in a long-term care setting is required.
  • Successful completion of the Methods of Instruction (MOI) course required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree preferred.
  • Experience working at the community college level preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide didactic and clinical instruction for nurse aide students.
  • Follow federal and state regulations and guidelines of the Medicaid Nurse Aide program.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records for the nurse aide program.
  • Securely maintains tests and records.
  • Identify supplies needed to conduct class and lab.
  • Schedule required clinical days with contracted long-term care facilities and attend clinical days with nurse aide students.
  • Complete and maintain the required files and other pertinent records in order to maintain clinical facility compliance.
  • Determine clinical placement of students.
  • Occasional work in the evenings and Saturdays.
