Description:
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Care Group Nurse Director in our Head of Neck Care Group. This is a 12 month fixed term/secondment opportunity
This is a senior registered nursing role in our new organisation taking forward the responsibilities of our Head and Neck Care Group. The Care Group oversees the specialty areas of ENT, Audiology, Ophthalmology, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics Restorative, Dentistry Community and Dentistry Orthoptist . It has a budget of c£49m with a total whole time equivalent number of staff of c508. You will have the opportunity to build relationships with our Integrated Care Acute Collaborative and will work closely with our primary care networks and place leadership team.
As a member of the triumvirate team leading the Care Group, the Care Group Nurse Director will work collaboratively and productively with the Chief of Service and Care Group Operations Director to provide assurance to the Group Executive Team that robust systems of governance and excellence in nursing care are in place to enable the delivery of high quality patient and family led services.
Interviews will be held on the 4th July 2024.
The Care Group Nurse Director will drive and influence change, collaboration and efficiencies throughout the Care Group ensuring we take the best aspects of each organisation within the Group.
You will be required to act as a role model, providing positive, professional accountable leadership across the Group, nursing/clinical staff, liaising with the Site Chief Nurse to whom the post holder will be professionally accountable.
The post holder will work in partnership with other organisations in the provision and planning of universal health services, taking forward national policies, with drive, passion and enthusiasm to develop a long term strategic vision that enables high quality and sustainable services.
Ensure achievement of key objectives relating to professional practice and the emerging service improvement agenda.
The Care Group Nurse Director will take a lead role in supporting compliance with key quality assurance systems, particularly national, regional, and local nursing and service standards and maintain clinical credibility.
Provide strategic strong nursing leadership and professional advice within the Care Group within a climate of change that enables high quality services to be delivered to patients and families consistently. Be responsible for the development and provision of transformational leadership across all clinical services to ensure and consistently develop a safe, high quality, cost effective service for patients, families and carers.

The Care Group Nurse Director is accountable for the safe, effective delivery of nursing, across the Care Group and for setting high standards and meeting the regulatory and commissioner requirements. Enabling nursing staff to feel actively engaged and be supported professionally to deliver the best possible care to patients and their families.
The Care Group Nurse Director will provide outstanding professional leadership to nurses and midwives, with the Care Group. The role is a highly visible one to ensure that nursing makes the fullest contribution to the development in delivering a high quality clinical, education and research service within the Care Group
