TUMANAKO INPATIENT UNIT & HE MANU PAE SUBACUTE UNIT (1.0FTE)

We are seeking an Educator who has a passion for promoting, facilitating and providing clinical education that maximises health care delivery, enhances tūroro outcomes, and promotes clinical excellence and evidence-based professional nursing practice.
Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau is committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and holds stewardship for equitable health outcomes for Māori as Tāngata Whenua as the highest priority.
This person will be driven to ensure excellent person centred and recovery focused service delivery, while identifying and realising opportunities to change and improve the service.

This position will:

  • Promote clinical excellence through the facilitation, development and provision of ward/unit based education programmes and resources
  • Develop the competence and capability of the nursing workforce within the clinical area
  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality improvement by leading and/or participating in quality improvement activities
  • Demonstrate consistently high clinical standards, clinical leadership and professionalism

Job Requirements:

  • New Zealand Registered Comprehensive or Psychiatric Nurse with current annual practicing certificate
  • PDRP at designated senior nursing level or Level 4
  • Post Graduate Diploma
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the relevant specialty area

Tumanako mental health acute in-patient service provides a full range of comprehensive care and treatment interventions including assessment, group, family/whānau and individual therapies, hospital based therapies and consultation services as an important part of the Mental Health and Addiction Services in Te Tai Tokerau.
