CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

As the successful candidate, you will be a Registered Nurse with current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) together with the following:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Sharp eye for detail
  • Ability to navigate electronic health records/systems and other relevant ICT systems
  • Minimum 3 years’ broad medical experience in a health system comparable to Australia
  • Experience within a Defence or on-base setting or in the delivery of pre-employment medicals would be highly desirable.
  • Current Working With Children Check
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAD009) certification.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you a dedicated and compassionate Nurse ready to take your career to the next level? We’re looking for exceptional Defence Force Recruiting (DFR) Nurse Officers to play a vital role in shaping the future of the Australian Defence Force (ADF).
The successful candidate will be primarily based in our Darwin Clinic on a Part-Time basis.

DUTIES

As a Nurse Officer, you will be a cornerstone of our team, responsible for conducting preliminary assessments and providing guidance to Medical Screeners.

Your role will encompass:

  • Conduct telephone vetting:
  • Review online medical history questionnaire and extract additional information while taking notes in the online medical records system.
  • Medical file reviews
  • Archive record identification and requests
  • Extant reports requests as needed
  • Ensuring all preliminary assessment information is entered accurately into the electronic health record
  • Monitoring & maintaining equipment used during preliminary assessments
  • Follow established policy and procedures within a well-defined Defence framework
