Description:
Registered Nurse - Outpatient Infusion Job Summary: Provides professional nursing care for patients in assigned areas according to established procedures. Works within clinical setting of Outpatient Infusion Department to ensure maintenance of a high standard of patient care and physician satisfaction. Reports to Outpatient Infusion Manager.
**Oncology and chemotherapy experience desired but it will be agreeable for the selected candidate to reach certification within 1 year. National chemotherapy certification (O.C.N.) would be welcomed.
Description:
Coordinates and delivers patient care using the health care team philosophy practice model. Coordinates and does patient teaching and discharge planning.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Previous experience in general duty nursing preferred, but not required.
Current Mississippi RN license.
Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize patients’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age, limitations, and planned treatments. Requires good judgment in delivering patient care; good oral and written communication skills; ability to function in stressful situations; current review in BLS. Ability to perform effectively in a stressful and fast-paced environment. This position has been determined to have a high risk of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens and hazardous chemicals. Works in a well-equipped nursing unit; if department and hospital safety regulations are followed, hazards are minimal.
Must be willing to rotate shifts, days off and work area; may occasionally be required to work overtime.
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
- Proficient in the English language, verbal and written communication skills, computer skills.
- Current Mississippi State license as RN; BLS
