OVERVIEW

Newgate 180 is growing and on the move! As a result of our recent growth, we are looking for
an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team.
A not-for-profit company and registered charity, Newgate 180 is one of Canada’s pre-eminent
addiction rehab centres with a history of success dating back nearly 50 years. We have
successfully treated over 5,000 people and helped them overcome their addiction and lead
fulfilling and happy lives.
Located just a 30-minute drive from Ottawa in beautiful Merrickville overlooking the historic
Rideau Canal, our Men’s and Women’s Centres offer addiction rehabilitation services to
working adults ages 25 to 75 from all over Canada. More information on the eight addictions

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Exceptional Communications and Nursing skills.
  2. Completion of a Diploma/Degree in Nursing from a recognized nursing school in Ontario or
    another Canadian province.
  3. Completion of a Nurse Practitioner (NP) program (including passing the NP examination).
  4. Minimum of 5 years of experience as an NP in a healthcare, mental health or addictions
    treatment setting.

Responsibilities:

This nursing professional will work closely with our Executive Director, Program Director and
Counselling Team. They will be responsible for providing medical care for our clients. They also
will be responsible for the following important duties:
1. Providing medical assessments of new clients during the onboarding phase of their residency
at Newgate 180.
2. Completing medical forms for clients and maintaining their medical records.
3. Providing medical advice and support to our clients, including consulting with family doctors,
hospitals and other professionals.
4. Promoting health and wellness to our clients and staff. This may include leading workshops
and attending group meetings.
