ABOUT US:

Capricornia Offender Health Service (COHS) is responsible for the delivery of health service to Prisoners in the Capricornia Correctional Centre (CCC) and Capricornia Correctional Farm (CCF) including workcamps. COHS provides a health service to a fluctuating population of approximately 1090 male Prisoners within CCC and CCF. The CCC receives and transitions Prisoners on release from and to geographical locations north to Mackay, south to Gladstone, east to Capricorn Coast, and west to Central Highlands.

VACCINE PREVENTABLE DISEASES (VPD) REQUIREMENTS:

It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against vaccine preventable diseases as listed on the Role Description.

The purpose of this role is to provide advanced clinical leadership, management, and clinical expertise relevant to the care of male Prisoners at the Capricornia Correctional Centre and in the community setting for eligible Prisoners post release. The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) works in collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Consultants, Nurse Educator and other COHS Senior Leadership Members to support the clinical Prisoner health service in provision of safe quality healthcare through exemplary clinical nursing standards of practice in correctional nursing.
