Nurse Aide II
Located in Belleville, Clara Maass Medical Center is a facility of RWJBarnabas Health and provides a complete continuum of care to residents of northern New Jersey. With over 700 physicians and 2,100 employees, we offer advanced treatment for a wide variety of medical conditions. Our facility includes centers for advanced wound care, sleep disorders, bariatrics, orthopedics cardiac services, cancer care, emergency services, and more. In 2017, the Medical Center completed a state-of-the-art campus expansion featuring a new four-story 87,000 square foot building with a private, 32-bed Intensive Care Unit, new Main Entrance and Lobby, Retail Pharmacy, Patient Registration Area and newly expanded Emergency Department.

We are currently looking for a Nurse Aide II to work in the PICU Unit. Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Nurse Aide II performs a variety of basic patient care activities and related procedures in caring for the needs of the patients. He/She assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment.
You Will Be Responsible For:
Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, B/P, height/weight and intake/output measurements accurately. Reports findings outside of normal range to RN.
Provides assistance with ADL s to assigned patients.
Provides assistance with the nutritional needs of the patients, including feeding, mealtime assistance/set-up, supplying fluids, and delivering supplemental snacks.
Lifts, moves, turns and transports patients out of bed, chair, stretcher, wheelchair, portable mechanical lift, etc, maintaining proper body mechanics.
Performs laboratory procedures as noted: venipuncture, EKG, GTT, blood culture, urine collection procedures and other laboratory procedures as directed by the Registered Nurse.

Your Qualifications Are:
High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
One (1) year of Nurse Aide/Assistant experience or satisfactory completion of an Aide training program.
Preferred at least one (1) year experience as a phlebotomist or EKG Technician with health care background. Current enrollment in health care training program as C.N.A. or PCT preferred.
Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association required.
Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal and demonstrated writing skills.
