Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen on Ward 3 at the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital. We require a HCA to join our team. Ward 3 is an innovative, fast paced and forward thinking, 30 bedded Acute Medicine Unit.
We are looking for experienced candidates who have a commitment to ensuring safe and high-quality care is delivered to our patients, as well as being a role model and supporting other members of the MDT.
On AMU there is a strong focus on multidisciplinary team working, to ensure safe and timely patient discharges or transfers to appropriate care settings.
You will be expected to work as part of a dynamic nursing team, delivering all aspects of care to patients and have excellent communication skills. Previous experience in a similar setting is desirable, but not essential. These posts will be rotational between day/night shift and cover seven days a week.
The main purpose of the role is to plan, implement and evaluate nursing care working as a member of the multidisciplinary team under the supervision of the nurses and the ward manager.

To assist the qualified nurses in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care.
To give basic nursing care, e.g.; assistance with personal hygiene, eating and drinking, mobility needs, washing under direct or indirect supervision. Monitor patients’ observations and vital signs including fluid balance
To report accurately perceived changes in a patient’s manner, observation, eating habits etc.
To promote health within the ward setting.
Organises own day to day work tasks or activities under supervision of qualified staff
Able to respond to the changing needs of patients and ward routines
