Description:

CREGG is delighted to be recruiting a Nursing Home Manager to join a Home based in Gort.
The Nursing Home Manager is accountable and responsible for the planning, directing, and evaluating of all operational activities at Nursing Home. This will include corresponding with HIQA on regulatory matters, corresponding with HSA on regulatory matters, Finance, HR, Marketing, Risk Management, Maintenance, Staff Training and Compliance. This includes implementing the Nursing Homes objectives, goals, and values.
The candidate will be responsible for the management and development of all staff by providing leadership and direction in all nursing care and operational functions. The manager will provide administrative and HR support to the PIC in addition to reviewing Care Plans ensuring they are compliant with the regulations.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience working in a Nursing Home, preferably in a management position
  • Team leadership
  • Inter-departmental relations
  • Good communicator
  • Fully discreet and confidential in all operational matters
  • Fully discreet with all nursing home and company financial matters
  • Excellent HR management skills
  • Management responsibilities for Health and Safety in the workplace.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all staff are trained in the necessary competencies relevant to their work
  • Extensive knowledge of the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act, 2005 and the relevant sections of the Nursing Home Acts which concern safety.
  • Fire Evacuation: Ensure clear, concise, and defined policies exist for the evacuation of the Nursing Home in the event of fireNegotiating bed prices with NTPF.
  • Control and monitor costs.
  • Generate relationship with local health officials, including NTPF officers, hospital staff discharge nurses, hospital social workers etc to fill empty beds.
  • Support the accounts department to collect payments and solve queries.
  • Supporting the janitor by building relationships with local trades people to ensure a smooth running of the nursing home.
  • Build relationships in the community with, but not limited to: GP’s, Pharmacists, Local clergy, Cancer Support and Mental Health Supports.
  • Consult With Statutory Bodies and Other Stakeholders
  • Responsible for Compliance: Records, HIQA standards, Health Act 2007, Health & Safety, ISO Procedures
  • Recruitment of staff and ensuring the training needs analysis and assisting in the drafting of the nursing home training program in collaboration with the PIC.
