Description:

Facilitate the Fundamental and Better Care Programme, including: analysing audit results and preparing summaries of the finding in reports to influence clinical practice and communicate main messages to key stakeholders. identifying areas of good practice and helping clinical teams to embed best practice across the Trust. early escalation of concerning performance and supporting clinical areas to address those concerns with improvement plans. Working collaboratively with ward staff and leaders to ensure commitment to the FAB programme.
Co-ordinate the Quality Walkabout programme, including: facilitating the timetable. capturing and monitoring agreed actions. Supporting the Head of Quality and Clinical Effectiveness to drive forward areas identified as requiring improvement. Actively work to increase the scope and quality of audits within nursing to provide assurance and evidence of changes in practice following patient safety, experience or quality concerns.
Undertake and facilitate Trust-wide internal nursing clinical audits. Ensure data collection is accurate, timely and analysis can be used to inform continuous quality improvement. Use clinical knowledge to help with data validation. Identify and escalate key clinical quality and safety issues, either verbally or in a written report.
Contribute to education requirements relating to the areas of quality, audit and clinical effectiveness, e.g. education roadshows, awareness events, teaching sessions, dissemination of new policies, protocols and guidelines. To work effectively within the corporate nursing team and in partnership with the patient safety, patient experience and safeguarding teams. Liaise with all disciplines and levels of clinical staff and patients as required (external and Trust) in relation to all matters quality including contentious and sometimes difficult matters.
Provide clinical support as required by the Trust in times of extreme demand
