Description:
Responsibility for the nursing management of patients admitted / treated with artificial nutrition support. To provide expert nursing advice and support to patients and their families throughout the pathway, enabling them to make an informed choice based on all treatment options. Development and provision of training and advice to nursing and junior medical staff on the management of patients undergoing parenteral / enteral nutritional support and intravenous therapiesTo provide psychological and emotional support for patients through the facilitation of relevant groups, counselling and information sharing.Support the development of policies, procedures and clinical protocols related to the service (i.e. parenteral / enteral nutrition, management of central line catheters.Participation in MDT meeting, contributing to the discussion and treatment planning/referral decisions.
To act as a role model in expert practice facilitating and supporting the delivery of direct specialist patient care, assisting staff to develop appropriate plans of care for patients.To review service provision in light of critical incidents, patient feedback, national guidance, participate in root cause analysis as appropriate. If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £41.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary.
In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13
