Description:
Position Summary
We have a fantastic opportunity available for an O-RAN Researcher to join us here at Samsung Research UK. This is a fixed term contract to start as soon as possible and run untill March 2025.
The Advanced Network Research Group at Samsung Research UK is looking for exceptional Research Engineers to join the Group in Staines-upon-Thames. The Group will undertake a one-year project involving the design of cutting-edge AI solutions, and integrating them into an O-RAN platform as a proof-of-concept.
Successful candidates will join a team of highly motivated and dedicated researchers and contribute to the entire lifecycle of the project, from software development and research of AI solutions, to integration, testing, and demonstration.
This position will require you to work closely with external partners including industry partners, universities, and SMEs.
Role and Responsibilities
The main tasks you are expected to perform include, but are not limited to:
- Innovate, develop, and demonstrate state-of-the-art AI solutions for a well-defined problem under the contexts of O-RAN and xApps.
- Deliver the solution in form of software proof-of-concept.
- Actively engage with colleagues internally and partners externally and adapt the solutions to fit into project requirements.
- Provide reports and documentation as required in the project.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential skills are:
- PhD degree in Wireless Communications, Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related disciplines (an equivalent period of industrial experience may be substituted).
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in designing and integrating AI solutions into the network, preferably O-RAN
- Proficiency in problem solving and debugging
- Excellent communication, teamwork and a results-oriented attitude
Desirable skills include:
- Experience with Open source
- Experience with delivering publications and IPRs
Contract Type: Fixed term contract untill March 2025
Location: Staines-upon-Thames, Surrey, UK
Hybrid Policy: 3 days onsite and 2 days working from home weekly
