Applications are open from 10 May to 10 June 2024 for the 2025 training year that starts in January - however, we may have roles available with an immediate start as well.

Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand, Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is spread across a vast geographical area and centred across two hospitals based in Tauranga and Whakatāne. We serve a population of approximately 308,000 for the major population centres of Tauranga, Katikati, Te Puke, Whakatāne, Kawerau and Ōpōtiki. Te Whatu Ora Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is one of the Bay of Plenty’s largest employers with over 4000 staff.

There are two O & G registrar core trainee positions to which trainees are allocated by the New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. There is also one position available for a senior advanced trainee. There are five non-training Registrar positions available.
There are eight Senior House Officer positions for which attachments can be of three-month or six-month duration. RMOs completing six month attachments are eligible to complete the O & G Diploma.
There are eight x Consultant Obstetricians & Gynaecologists.
All positions are based at Tauranga Hospital and the period for trainees is six months, non-trainees for 12 months. Tauranga Hospital is a 326 bed Upper Secondary hospital.
