Description:
- ASAP start date -June 30, 2024 with possibility of extension
- Pay Rate: $71.93 - $78.87/Hour + Super
- Location: Dickson ACT 2602, Hybrid set up
We’re seeking a driven and experienced Work Health and Safety Officer to join our team.
You’ll work independently while receiving collaborative support from our dedicated Safety and Wellbeing team as needed.
SKILLS
- Excellent written communication skills demonstrated through the creation of WHS policy and procedural documents.
- Strong oral communication skills including liaison, negotiation and representational skills, particularly in dealing with workplace safety issues.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing and maintaining a work health and safety management system.
- Experience using SharePoint and Objective and ability to create and update file structures to improve accessibility and reduce information duplication.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise work based on risk and to deliver key milestones within agreed timeframes.
Responsibilities:
- Undertaking a compliance review of EPSDD’s work health and safety management system, documenting any gaps in the system, and making recommendations on how to address those gaps in order of priority/risk.
- Reviewing WHS policies and procedures for currency.
- Updating and creating WHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legislation and Australian Standards and suitability for the EPSDD context.
- Leading consultation and implementation of any updates to the work health and safety management system.
- Consolidating and archiving defunct policies and procedures located in SharePoint and Objective, ensuring easy accessibility for employees and removing any duplication.
