Description:

COME AND JOIN ONE OF THE UKS LARGEST PROVIDERS OF COMPLEX CARE. WE PROUDLY EMPLOY OVER 4000+ PEOPLE - NO MATTER WHAT YOUR EXPERIENCE, WE HAVE JOBS FOR EVERYONE.

We are currently seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic Occupational Therapist (experience equivalent to Band 5) to join our caring and supportive team at Holybourne Hospital on a 12 month, fixed-term basis.
Located in Roehampton, Holybourne is an Adult Mental Health hospital for people of all genders with severe and complex mental health conditions. We are committed to providing high quality intensive treatment in a clinically safe, caring, and secure environment. We play a crucial role in supporting the NHS when intensive care needs cannot be met locally.
As an Occupational Therapist, you will be part of a friendly, collaborative multi-disciplinary team supporting people over the age of 18 who may be admitted to us informally or may be detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007). We can also admit patients who require detoxification from alcohol or drugs or patients who are under a revoked Community Treatment Order (CTO).
Holybourne Hospital boasts 41 beds distributed across four wards, each equipped with exceptional facilities, including a therapy suite, gym and enclosed sports area, designated art room, therapy kitchen, multi-faith room, and a beautiful therapy garden.
If you want to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals facing mental health challenges, we encourage you to explore this rewarding opportunity further.

Responsibilities:

  • Keep people safe from any harm and protect their human rights.
  • Work as part of multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs), contributing occupational therapy expertise to ensure we deliver outstanding assessment, care planning and support for the young people in our care.
  • Devise and deliver individual and group occupational therapy programmes.
  • Provide management and leadership of staff in the MDT delivering Occupational Therapy interventions.
  • Contribute to the effective running of MDTs by performing key functions, such as liaising with families, CPAs, minute-taking etc.
  • Assist with the training of care staff and others in the principles of occupational therapy, so that an understanding of occupational therapy underpins the work of the care teams.
  • Work as part of the hospitals therapy team, sharing information and supporting colleagues
  • Keep records as required and contribute to the provision of high-quality management information across the hospital.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, visitors, carers, and members of the multi-disciplinary team
