About the role

  • As part of an inter-professional, collaborative multidisciplinary team, this role will deliver advanced level, specialised clinical, evidence-based occupational therapy within acute services across the Caboolture, Kilcoy & Woodford Directorate.
  • This role is expected to provide specialist consultancy, complex care management, and leadership within a patient centred framework to support patient flow through Occupational Therapy services across the continuum of care for patients, carers and families of Caboolture, Kilcoy & Woodford.
  • This role will support the day to day operational provision of Occupational Therapy services to the acute wards.

Knowledge, skills and expertise

Clinical Expertise: Demonstrated advanced level knowledge, expertise and skill in contemporary clinical practice standards for occupational therapy services in an acute hospital

  • Communication/Team participation: Demonstrated application of a high standard of communication skills and advice to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams, with consumers and with other internal and external agencies in order to provide high quality, culturally responsive services.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to provide operational, clinical, and strategic leadership to a team of Occupational Therapists and Clinical Assistants, students and trainees.
  • Quality improvement: Demonstrated ability to lead innovative quality/service improvement and research projects of significant scope and clinical importance to Occupational Therapy and/or Queensland Health
