Description:

We are excited to be able to offer this unique opportunity to work clinically whilst also providing administrative support to the Service Lead OT.
Gwelfor is an 18 bed High Relational Support Rehabilitation Unit on the Cefn Coed Hospital site that provides mental health care to males.
As a Band 4 Occupational Therapy Technical Instructor you will have the chance to be part of delivering a quality service under the supervision and guidance of qualified therapists and alongside a supportive team. You will need to have an enthusiastic and hard-working approach, be passionate about quality patient care, have excellent communication/interpersonal skills with the additional skills and ability to provide administrative support to the Service Lead OT.
Successful applicants will have clinical supervision, support to gain an Agored Occupational Therapy Diploma to encourage self-development and role skill set, and also in-service training. This is a rewarding, varied and dynamic role.
The team provides service wide care to support service user occupational function in line with recovery principles and practice. Applications are welcome from creative and highly motivated people who would like to join a highly valued Occupational Therapy Team in this health board.

Main duties of the job

  • The post holder is responsible for the provision of assessment, treatment, and intervention and expected to contribute to the safe and meaningful discharge plan, alongside a supportive multi-disciplinary team, using the MOHO model of practice.
  • Use technical and creative skills to assist in the provision of therapeutic occupations for individuals and groups of patients
  • Responsible for the prioritisation of tasks
  • Works on multiple sites including community, patients homes and third sector services
  • Provide administrative support to the Service Lead OT.
