Faculty/Unit : School of Continuing Studies, Professional and Corporate Education (PCE)
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, the incumbent may perform some of all of the listed tasks with minimal complexity and precise instruction.
Typical Functions:
- Positive attitude while greeting and answering general inquiries. This includes directing calls, provide policies and procedures as well as providing locational directions.
- Collects and enters data into established databases.
- Receives, sends and sorts mail, parcels and various forms.
- Schedules appointments and meetings when required. Books rooms and orders catering through established system.
- Performs basic word processing functions such as, document formatting, labelling, spellcheck, mail merge, drafting letters from template.
- Verifies student ID, status and forms that may be submitted.
- Document preparation of forms, exams, marketing materials and emails. Such preparation may include sorting, collating, filing, scanning, photocopying and shredding.
- Distribution and tracking of items, such as instruments ( documents, books, computer equipment. A log to track these items may be required.
- Provide general assistance at events such as training sessions, open house.
- Maintain immediate work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
The list of functions outlined above is representative and not a complete and detailed list of tasks which may be performed by an incumbent. For example, incumbents may be asked to perform some elements of Communications Assistant level “A” and/or “B” in addition to the above listed functions
Minimum Education, Certification and Experience:
High School Diploma with two years of relevant experience in the field of work
