Job Description

MISSION

Join the team at CIMA+, the largest engineering firm on the North Shore. Its multidisciplinary engineering team of over 100 professionals in its Sept-Iles and Baie-Comeau offices has been active in the region for several decades. This team of experienced professionals and local residents is involved in projects in both the heavy industrial and energy sectors (mining and metals, pulp and paper, hydroelectricity and dams, transmission lines, substations and power distribution) and in the building, transportation and infrastructure sectors.
We are looking for a Director to help implement our strategic plan for the region, and to support the management of the Sept-Iles office operations. The candidate will have the opportunity to take part in the development of this fast-growing office, and will be a key player in maintaining relationships with numerous customers with strong potential for growth, both for the local team and for CIMA+ as a whole.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree or college diploma in mechanical, industrial, electrical or civil engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience, experience with a consulting engineering firm an asset.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, strategic vision, business acumen.
  • Expertise in team management and mobilizing leadership.
  • Expertise in business development and operations management.
  • Proactivity, autonomy and ability to work under pressure.
  • Recognized expertise in engineering project management and relevant experience in construction, planning and estimating.
  • Willingness to travel to plants/industrial sites
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec - an asset
  • Fluency in French and English is essential for this position to ensure smooth interaction with our various stakeholders, clear communication, and successful completion of our various projects nationwide.
  • Strong organizational skills, rigor and judgment
  • Acts ethically and demonstrates a high capacity for collaboration

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in personnel management of the Sept-Iles office (team of approximately 20 resources).
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the strategic plan for the region
  • Monitor local business opportunities, liaising with the firm’s various stakeholders as required.
  • Participate in business development strategies and activities with customers in the region.
  • Actively participate in the follow-up of the firm’s projects with our local clients, to ensure that our mandates are delivered in accordance with the company’s values and to the complete satisfaction of our clients.
  • Maintain business relations with existing clients and develop business relations with new clients.
  • Participation and representation of the firm in the city’s business and socio-economic development activities.
  • In addition to office management duties, project management including production of deliverables (reports, design, plans and specifications, expertise).
