EBC is actively seeking an Office Project Engineer for our civil division in Vancouver where they can utilize their extensive knowledge to contribute to the continued success and growth of the organization.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the project is completed safely, on schedule and in compliance with the contract and job cost estimates.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Lead the Permit Management process;
- Lead the Construction submittals process;
- Assist the Project Management team in the overall planning and scheduling of day-to-day construction activities, including monitoring and reporting;
- Assist in developing Work Plans for upcoming construction activities in conjunction with the technical and construction teams;
- Assist in the development or review of temporary works;
- Review various documentation including civil and environmental reports, recommendations, technical memoranda, and technical specifications;
- Assist the PM in all functions and operations of project including compliance with local legislative and labour requirements;
- Ensures that Company policies and procedures are followed in all aspects of project execution;
- Manage and coordinate projects within budgets;
- Assist the PM in preparing the project cost status reports in terms of percent complete, cost to date and cost forecast;
- Identify project concerns and alert management of potential risks on assigned projects. Develop a plan to minimize detrimental impacts and mitigate risks;
- Monitor the overall progress of the project on an ongoing basis and takes corrective action where necessary;
- Assist the PM in preparing budgets, forecasts and reducing risk through managing scope and contract change;
- Ensure that all scope and contract changes are submitted and approved by the client;
- Preparation of progress billings and assist in the collection of outstanding payments;
- Other duties as assigned.
