Description:
Office/ Receptionist, Band 2 (20.5 hours a week)
Are you looking for a varied and rewarding job?
We are looking for people to join the General Services Team in the Pathology General Office to undertake administrative duties including organising rotas, managing records and invoices, and answering queries.
There may also be the occasional need to cover Pathology van driving duties, collecting and transporting pathology samples. The post is based at Cheltenham General Hospital - but the post-holder will also be expected to work at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital as the need arises.
Full training will be given.
Office: Organising the rota for the Driving Team and sorting basic vehicle issues, Invoicing, Personnel Records, Staff Inductions, Minute Taking. Also, basic Office duties, including answering the telephone, filing, scanning, photocopying.
Candidates should have excellent communicational skills and have a good standard of literacy and numeracy. Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel would also be required.
Candidates should also as an advantage have a full driving license as it may be necessary to assist the van service from time to time.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work well within a team and use own initiative.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Good administration and organisational skills including time management.
- Driving Licence would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of relevant Health and Safety procedures including Manual Handling Regulations and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) would be an advantage, but training will be given.
Responsibilities:
To provide Clerical support to the Pathology Laboratory as a whole, and General Services/ Healthscreen in particular.
As a member of a team of Clerical staff, to contribute directly to the provision of an efficient and responsive service as part of the process of diagnosis, patient care and treatment.
Healthscreen UK is owned by Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. It provides laboratory services to business and industry across the country, by screening for disease and monitoring the health of ‘at risk’ workers. This ensures that companies comply with COSHH and HSE requirements.
