Description:
EVP AREA SERVICE > GLOBAL SERVICE OPERATIONS, QUALITY & HSE > GLOBAL OFFSHORE OPERATIONS
The Global Offshore Service Operations department has a threefold purpose:
- We capture learnings and identify operational gaps in our existing fleet, maintaining and increasing the performance in our OFS platforms we operate today
- We prepare the organisation for the significant growth ahead, ensuring that we can safely and profitably ramp up operations across the globe
- We develop and implement new operational concepts and ways of working to increase efficiencies within our operations and make Vestas more competitive
Vestas Service is today servicing ~8.5 GW offshore, mainly within our Northern European (NCE) region. Towards 2030, we expect the capacity to triple, with a significant portion of the growth coming from outside Europe. To be effective, the department has an operational end-to-end responsibility, ensuring that current fleet performance is enhanced while ensuring that existing learnings are being captured and implemented in our ways of working tomorrow. This will empower Vestas to effectively implement its strategy as a foremost provider of Offshore Wind in the upcoming years.
The department interacts with key stakeholders within and outside of the EVP Service area, such as Technology, Sales, Manufacturing, and Construction, as well as the Regions, to ensure that suitable activities are being implemented and accelerated. As such, working with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation in a matrix set-up is critical for growth.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum BSc in Operations Management, Engineering, Renewables Engineering, or a similar field (alternatively: extensive day-to-day operational experience, such as a Site Manager)
- 5+ years’ work experience in an operations role, ideally within the offshore wind industry
- Good understanding of project and portfolio management

RESPONSIBILITIES
The role of an Offshore Readiness Specialist has the following responsibilities:
- Having a complete portfolio overview of the pipeline of projects that Vestas is currently bidding on or negotiating, as well as what, in broad terms, it would take to operate those projects efficiently
- Working closely with our Service Commercial colleagues as well as the complete Vestas value chain to make recommendations about which projects, from a Service operations point of view, should be prioritised within the pipeline
- Understanding contractual deliverables and the implications of those on our operations, as well as how to best deliver those, along with understanding the service cost model and making improvement recommendations
- Working closely with the regional service readiness teams to ensure a safe and profitable ramp-up of operations, as well as that Vestas delivers what has been sold ("contractual readiness"), being their single point of contact
- Being accountable for the creation of one holistic plan across the global functions and the regions, using the existing StageGate Model framework, when it comes to the ramp-up of a new project
- Making “Best for Vestas” recommendations about how to best scale up our offshore operations globally, as well as ensuring the implementation of those recommendations
- Working closely and collaboratively with the complete Vestas value chain (e.g., Technology, Service MPD, Training, Technical Support, Supply Chain & Repair, etc.) to achieve the desired outcomes
