PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership or work towards a graduate degree
  • A minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience
  • Previous administrative experience in schools would be an asset
  • Experience in school scheduling
  • Experience in remediation of student adjustment and disciplinary needs
  • Knowledge of conflict resolution models
  • Knowledge and experience in curriculum planning an effective instructional practices
  • Knowledge of experience in ELL strategies
  • Knowledge and experience with student services
  • Familiar with the seven dimensions of the Principal Quality Standards

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To assist the Principal in providing effective leadership to school faculty, staff and students in all
areas of the school’s program and responsibilities. The successful candidate will have teaching duties
assigned as necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include the following, other duties may be assigned:

  • Assist in the development, coordination and implementation of a comprehensive building level

plan for responsive and efficient delivery of student services tailored to the adjustment and

discipline needs of the students

  • Develop and implement new and innovative ideas for improving the delivery of student

education programs

  • Provide leadership in designing building level programs and activities to alleviate problems of

student attendance

  • Develop and implement yearly performance objectives designed to improve student

attendance, discipline, school climate, and student success

  • Work with the Principal in assisting teachers to develop evaluation procedures designed to

evaluate student progress in relation to instruction objectives

  • Through scheduled classroom observations, assist the Principal in making regular systematic

and accurate appraisals of teachers instructional practices by monitoring and assessing

teachers professional performance

  • Advise and assist teachers with classroom management and resolution of interpersonal

relations conflicts between student /teacher and teacher/student

  • Provide leadership in developing a positive school climate and harmonious multicultural, multi-

ethnic educational environment

  • Develop and implement master school schedule for student and course grade distribution
