Description:

Overview:
The Houston office of Lewis Brisbois, a full-service AmLaw 100 firm, is actively seeking an attorney to join its Oil & Gas, Energy and Natural Resources Practice.

The ideal candidate will be admitted to the Texas Bar and have at least three (3) years of experience:

  • Negotiating and drafting oil and gas joint venture agreements, lease agreements, water rights agreements, deeds, assignments, service rights agreements, joint operating agreements, master service agreements, division orders, easements and/or real estate agreements
  • Performing acquisition due diligence, and experience with purchase and sale of mineral assets and surface rights
  • Identifying legal risks and recommending/implementing risk mitigation strategies
  • Transacting renewables

Title examination experience is a plus, as is experience with oil, gas and natural resources transactions and dispute resolutions.
Board certification in oil, gas and mineral law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization is also a plus.
The successful candidate will also have excellent analytical, legal research and writing skills, as well as strong communication skills.
