Description:

ON-CALL ASSISTANT IN NURSING (BATHURST)

Our client is currently seeking compassionate and experienced Assistants in Nursing to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing essential care and support in an on-call capacity. You will support the elderly residents in their daily routines and activities. This role requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors by assisting with tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming and mobility assistance. You will play a crucial role in offering emotional support and companionship, fostering a warm and respectful environment. Through collaborating closely with the nursing and healthcare team, you will need to ensure the well-being and safety of residents while maintaining their dignity and independence.

  • $37 - $40 per hour | Benefits

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents in performing daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to the residents.
  • Assist with mobility, transferring, and positioning of the residents.
  • Monitor and report changes in the resident’s health or behaviour to the supervising nurse or healthcare provider.
  • Document care activities and observations in the resident’s records.
  • Provide person-centered care to the residents in accordance with the Aged Care Quality Standards, ensuring that the resident’s dignity, privacy, and independence are respected.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Cert III or IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or another related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience providing care in an aged care facility.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience and a positive attitude
