Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The Receptionist is responsible for a wide variety of clerical duties in support of Seabird Island which Includes communicating school related activities, greeting and screening students and parents, answering and transferring telephone calls organizing digital and paper filing systems. You will often be the first point of contact for potential students, parents, and staff, you contribute to a role in general office appearance, organization, and professional impression.

EDUCATION
High school diploma or GED is required.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- 2 years of direct work experience in a receptionist capacity.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Strong knowledge of general office procedures.
- Able to write simple correspondence, including memos, letters, etc.
- Ability to be a positive role model for staff and students and inspire high academic achievement.
- Ability to interact effectively with a variety of personality types and students with diverse needs.
- Excellent customer service skills and a demonstrated ability to work in demanding environments serving the public.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proficient computer skills with the Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.)
- Proficient interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Ability to agree as well as adhere to Seabird Island Band Human Resources (HR), Finance, and Information Technology (IT) Policies and Procedures, etc.
- Knowledge, respect and understanding of Stó: lō culture, traditions and language or willingness to learn.
- Experience working with First Nations community is considered an asset.
- Valid BC Driver’s License with a clean Driver’s Abstract within the last 5 years.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
